We brought Maureen in to train and inspire our whole organization around ‘Embracing a Culture of Feedback’ and mission accomplished! Maureen invited us to broaden the conversation around individual and team performance improvement by embracing an overall culture of feedback beyond annual performance reviews alone. In the training sessions she led with the team, she provided us with the tools to conduct the helpful and sometimes hard-to-have conversations ("Crucial conversations") all year long. Maureen and I partnered together to create the first mentoring program at mcgarrybowen - a volunteer -based program that built mentor/mentee relationships in order to foster professional growth and build additional support systems within our organization. At the beginning of developing the program, Maureen identified a need to educate employees on the importance of these relationship and mentoring as a whole. She worked with HR on building out educational sessions that focused on helping people understand what you can get out of the program, and helped reinforce that education annually. Maureen also initiated quarterly cross-discipline panels - where chosen senior leaders with the agency could speak about their own experiences in their careers around certain topics like "providing constructive criticism" and "mentors in my career", etc... These panels provided mentees a chance to not only get to know our leaders better and interact with them - but see how they used those experiences to grow and learn. The feedback we would received from mentees on the panels was always positive and mcgarrybowen continues leveraging these panels today. As head of Account Services, Maureen identified a need to bring the department together on a monthly basis to communicate Agency updates department wide, as well as have the various Account teams present work and news around their latest campaigns. This broke down silos between the teams and created a camaraderie within the department. Maureen also championed various learning and development programs for the account department - such as AAE bootcamp and presentation skills. Overall Maureen was a wonderful collaborator, team player and optimist. Even in tough situations she would power through, and would always see the positive in everything. She was a pleasure to partner with!
